Bad enough Jade Frost’s boyfriend drags her to a boring poker game. Even worse that he actually threw her into the betting pot during an intense round…and lost. Talk about the perfect excuse for Jade to make him her ex-boyfriend.
Now she supposedly belongs to the ultra rich, extremely gorgeous Shep Prescott. He could have anything he wants yet he seems to be in hot pursuit of her. No matter how rude, how snarky, how impossible she acts, it doesn’t stop him. More like her horrible behavior seems to make him want her more.
When she finds herself starting to fall for him, Jade’s confused. There’s more to Shep than the carefree rich charmer he portrays. No way could he want a serious relationship with her…or could he?
First Line: "I hate Shepard Prescott."
Review: I just recently discovered Monica Murphy and I'm so glad I came across her books because wow I loved Fair Game. The characters held my attention till the very end. Shep and Jade together led to some sexy and funny moments, they were just adorable together and what I loved was that Murphy gave us point of views from both characters which really helped especially in Sheps case because I probably wouldn't have liked him much if we only had Jade's perspective but thanks to his p.o.v I loved him.

No insta-love thank goodness, although there was an attraction between the two from the get-go, but the romance between the two was a slow burn and happened in a realistic time frame.
Was there cliche moments...yes. Did it follow your typical man-whore guy falling for a girl he never would and changing his way for her...yes BUT it was still an addictive read because Murphy knows how to write great characters with some laugh out loud moments mixed within. So if you love New Adult Romance check this one out.
There are three books in the series each one about a different couple and I can't wait to read Gabe's and Tristan's stories.
Memorable Quotes:
~"Her hair is like fire. Vibrant and bright, wild and free–I sound like a fucking poet in my head."
~"He should be drinking cheap beer like everyone else but nooo. He's Shepard Prescott, special snowflake."
