Interview with C.C. Hunter

Today I would like to welcome C.C. Hunter author of the Shadow Falls and Shadow Falls : After Dark series.

How do you come up with the names for the characters in your books?
I’m terrible at picking names.  My editor even send me a book on naming your baby.
I’ll look at on my book shelf and see an author’s name and bam, I’ve got my new name.

At one time, I was considering naming Della, Ashley.
Kylie was Caroline.
Miranda was Elizabeth.
Lucas was Hunter.  Then, I realized that was my last name.
I named Steve, and I shouldn’t have, because my own husband’s name is Steve.  Now when
fans claim to be Steve fans, my hubby gets a big smile on his face.

See, I really am bad with names.

Who do you think is the most complex character in Eternal?
Hmm, very difficult question.  I think it’s a toss-up between three characters: Della, Burnett and Chase.
Della because she’s a mix of sass and heart.  Burnett because he’s so firm, yet cares so deeply.
And Chase because he’s still a mystery to me.

If you could co-author a book with any author who would it be?
Hmm, Jennifer Armentrout or Kelly Armstrong

What is the one quote that inspires you above all others?
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't—you're right.”  Henry Ford

What song would be the perfect theme song for Eternal?
For Kylie and Shadow Falls. I found one that fit Kylie perfectly.  http://youtu.be/b7k0a5hYnSI
I looked for Della’s song, and I think the one that best tells Della’s story is Kelly Clarkson, “Stronger”
(What doesn’t Kill You)  http://youtu.be/Xn676-fLq7I

And here’s a few other tidbits you’ll learn when reading Eternal:

  • Never drive ninety miles an hour in a forty mile an hour speed-limit area.
  • When it snows inside your bedroom, something spooky is going on.
  • Breaking and entering isn't nearly as much fun as you would think it would be.Especially when you are seconds from being caught.
  • Riding in a convertible with the wind in your hair is almost as good as flying.
  • Taking ice cream away from a girl suffering from a broken heart might get you turned into a kangaroo with pimples.
  • Two wrongs never make a right, especially when it involves kissing someone.
  • Sometimes you have to kiss a few toads to find your prince.
  • Never interrupt one of Burnett’s interrogations.
  • Some ghosts can text. Really!
  • Two of Shadow Falls’ hottest guys leave the camp.

About the author:
C.C. Hunter grew up in Alabama, where she caught lightning bugs, ran barefoot, and regularly rescued potential princes, in the form of Alabama bullfrogs, from her brothers. Today, she's still fascinated with lightning bugs, mostly wears shoes, but has turned her focus to rescuing mammals. She now lives in Texas with her four rescued cats, one dog, and a prince of a husband, who for the record, is so not a frog. When she's not writing, she's reading, spending time with her family, or is shooting things-with a camera, not a gun.

C.C. Hunter is a pseudonym. Her real name is Christie Craig and she also writes humorous romantic suspense romance novels for Grand Central. www.christie-craig.com
