In Allison Sekemoto's world, there is one rule left: Blood calls to blood
She has done the unthinkable: died so that she might continue to live. Cast out of Eden and separated from the boy she dared to love, Allie will follow the call of blood to save her creator, Kanin, from the psychotic vampire Sarren. But when the trail leads to Allie's birthplace in New Covington, what Allie finds there will change the world forever—and possibly end human and vampire existence.
There's a new plague on the rise, a strain of the Red Lung virus that wiped out most of humanity generations ago—and this strain is deadly to humans and vampires alike. The only hope for a cure lies in the secrets Kanin carries, if Allie can get to him in time.
Allison thought that immortality was forever. But now, with eternity itself hanging in the balance, the lines between human and monster will blur even further, and Allie must face another choice she could never have imagined having to make.
First Line: "I smelled blood as soon as I walked into the room."
Review: The Eternity Cure is just all sorts of bad-ass. It's gripping and dark, the characters are written so well even Jackal whom I loathed in The Immortal Rules I came to have this love hate thing going for him in The Eternity Cure, I have to say he really did add a ton of humor with his sarcastic arrogant self which was refreshing. It was really interesting to see Jackal, Kanin and Allie working on one side, well sort of since Jackal still had his own personal agenda.
As far as Zeke goes he changed a lot from the previous book, he still has a gentle side to him underneath his new found hardened self. I did like him in this one more though because he was more tougher and not so weak of an individual as in the last one.
Allie is still my favorite character in this series so far but Jackal is starting to become a favorite of mine also, and it was actually entertaining seeing Allie throughout the novel having to remind herself on why she hated him so much since there were quite a few redeemable things Jackal did.
Overall a great second book in a series, a lot more questions were answered, tons of action and a whole lot of tension throughout the book and then there was the way it ended Whoa! that's all I have to say. I will be getting my hands on The Forever Song asap.
Memorable Quotes
~"Now we're going to save a bunch of dirty meatsacks from a bunch of dirty cannibals? Why don't we rescue some orphaned kittens and put food out for stray puppies while we're at it?"
~"Oh, don't mind me," came an extremely sarcastic voice near the wall. “You two go ahead and make out–I'll just sit here and bleed quietly."
