Gwen’s life has been a rollercoaster since she discovered she was the Ruby, the final member of the secret time-traveling Circle of Twelve. In between searching through history for the other time-travelers and asking for a bit of their blood (gross!), she’s been trying to figure out what all the mysteries and prophecies surrounding the Circle really mean.
At least Gwen has plenty of help. Her best friend Lesley follows every lead diligently on the Internet. James the ghost teaches Gwen how to fit in at an eighteenth century party. And Xemerius, the gargoyle demon who has been following Gwen since he caught her kissing Gideon in a church, offers advice on everything. Oh, yes. And of course there is Gideon, the Diamond. One minute he’s very warm indeed; the next he’s freezing cold. Gwen’s not sure what’s going on there, but she’s pretty much destined to find out.
First Line: The streets of Southwark were dark and deserted.
Review: I always dread picking up the second book in the series because usually it is no where near as good as the first one but Kerstin Gier is such an amazing author because Sapphire Blue was just as wonderful of a read as Ruby Red if not better.
I found myself falling even more in love with the characters especially Gwen she is just awesome. She is taking measures into her own hands in this book since everyone is still trying to keep secrets from her and then there is Xemerius who is just so funny and lovable and starting to be pretty helpful to Gwen. As for Gideon he is so hot and cold with Gwen it's driving me crazy, I mean okay he has his reasons when he decided to be a jerk to Gwen thinking she was betraying him but still stop with the head games and okay there were some other revelations that make you question him but I really do think his affections for her are true.
I can't wait to see how it all plays out, and I mean everything because there is a lot going on that I really want answers to so can't wait for Emerald Green. October needs to hurry up and get here fast.
