Today I have Author Maha Huneidi doing a character interview and giving away a copy of her  children's book When Monsters Get Lonely.

An Interview with Sn-eefil Sob

Joining us today is Sn-eefil, the monsters who terrorized Hannah in the children’s picture book “When Monsters Get Lonely.”    

Sn-eefil, I would like to thank you for being here with us today, but I’m not sure that I should. You sound like an evil monster! You lurked, you touched Hannah’s neck when she was sleeping, and you terrorized her out of her wits! 

1.What do you have to say about that? 
I do not terrorizzze little people. I’m just misunderstood

2.Sn-eefil, that’s a very strange name. Who gave you this name?

Not strrrange! Hannah alwayzzz callzzz my name; Sn-eefil, Sn-eefil, sob, sob… but then she runzzz off. My name izzz Snee-fle Sob

3.It has been said that you come from the belly of the earth, where all monsters live. Is that true?

Hahahaheeheehaha, belly ovvv the earrrth, fancy that, belly ovvv the earth!

4.Where were you born and how did you come to be in Hannah’s room?

I wazzz a little weee dussst bunny in Hannah’zzz room! She used to play with me when she wazzz a weee baby. I decided to grow up with her. So, I made myself from aaall the old stufff that is lost under her bed, but Hannah stopped playing with meee When I got so BIG.

5.What were your dreams when you were a little monster?

I drrreamed of playing with Hannah, but she wazzz terrified!

6.What do you do in your free time?

I wait for Hannah to sleep, so I can come out.

7.What would you like to be when you grow up?

I would like to be a movie starrr.

8.Are you imaginary or real?

I am real only inside your head. I do not terrorizzze little people, they terrorizzze themselvezzz because they think scary thoughts.

9.What advice do you have for little girls and boys who are afraid of monsters?

If you think scary thoughtzzz, you will be scared, if you think happy thoughtzzz you will be happy.

About the Author

I am just a woman who is still in training for life in general; a wife, mother, grandmother, meditation and yoga instructor, and self professed, self published author. An avid reader and researcher of everything new age, spiritual, and health and well-being related, and I finally found out what I want to be when I grow up!



Now that I’m finally grown up, at sixty, I have begun my career doing what I am passionate about. I’m charged by a mere idea, one that I can turn into a story or article. I love to write, it empowers and delights me.


I also love the newness, exuberance, and curiosity of little kids and I share the two latter traits with them, as well as many other traits like the ability to make mistakes fearlessly and learn from them, for example.



My friends saw those traits in me and asked me to start a day care center for their kids, many years ago after my boys left for college. For the duration of two years, before we moved to Switzerland, I had six to seven 2 to 3 year olds knocking my door daily. Opening the door I was always greeted with this “what do you have for me today?” kind of expression that I loved.




I learned for the second time (the first time from my own kids) how smart little kids are and how magical their little world is. I learned how easily they absorb whatever you teach them and how eager they are to learn new things. I have great respect for those wonderful little people who are our future, and those kids knew it. Kids sense how you feel about them from the way you interact with them and they respond to it.
